MARIJA SILOV
A Croatian self-taught artist born September 6th, 1996 currently based in Berlin. Instinctively creating since childhood, she exhibited early and received an award before life pulled her in another direction.
She spent over ten years working as a model, moving through the fashion world and experiencing how image, presence, and identity can be constructed—and undone.
Art went quiet, but it never disappeared. After a decade of silently sketching and drawing in the backstages and model apartments she has returned to it from a more focused place.
My VISION
My creative process is an intuitive dive into the subconscious - emotion, memory, and the spaces in between.
Through combining different painting styles within a single space over my life I’ve developed a personal visual language that invites viewers to engage with each piece individually. By blending abstract colour work with illustrative elements and hidden messages,
I create artworks that each carry their own distinctive narrative and emotional tone.
My work explores spirituality, social issues, mind, and love - subjects that shape how we move through the world. I like to watch how fragments of memories - both vivid and forgotten - can be visualised on the canvas.
My art is not about depicting what is seen, but revealing what is sensed like the stories that live beneath the surface.
My pieces create an open space where viewers can connect with their own inner narratives, finding echoes of themselves within the layers of paint.
